Richard D. Hendricks

The following is the record that we have of the descendants of Richard
D.Hendricks who having to surrender his wagons and horses to Union Troops at
The Hollows Va. sometime at the end of the war. Settled there in the area
now known as Ararat Va. Patrick Co. Richard was a teamster with the King
William Artillery. He enlisted at Bond's Store in King William County Va.
6/1/1861.
Richard married Mary Victoria Deatherage dau. of William and Elizabeth
Pickell Deatherage, she was born in Tennessee abt. 1839. They settled near
Ararat Va. and had the following children.

December 24th 1891 and had the following children.

Fredrick Douglas Hendricks born Patrick Co. Va. 1/16/1898 died 11/19/1968
Huntington W.Va. Buried Woodmere Cemetery, Huntington W.Va. Veteran WWII.

Robert Bruce Hendricks born Patrick Co. Va. 3/5/1900 died 10/17/1993 North
Matewan, W.Va. Buried Buskirk Cemetery, Buskirk Kentucky.

Virginia Louise Hendricks Ball born Patrick Co. Va. 10/26/1902 died 6/1/1963
in Detroit Michigan Buried in Kentucky on Ball Fork of Pond Creek.

John Gilbert Hendricks born Gary W.Va. 7/29/1904 died 8/31/1972 Huntsville
Alabama Buried there.

James Meredith Hendricks born Gary W.Va. 1/11/1906 died 4/19/1972 Brookville
Florida Buried beside his brother Richard Lewis Hendricks at Mtn. View
Memory Gardens Maher W.Va.

Benjamin F. Hendricks born Welch W.Va. 1/16/1909 died 8/23/1975 at home
North Matewan W.Va. Buried in Crypt at Mtn. View Memory Gardens Maher W.Va.
