Regarding the recent exchange of TENNESSEE-to-ILLINOIS HENSLEY Data-

Let's please regroup, as far as the CHARLES HENSLEY family information goes!
According to White Co. Tn. Records: (These are records I have obtained from
the White Co. Tn. Courthouse, the Tn. State Archives in Nashville, Tn., the
Hamilton Co. Courthouse in McLeansboro, IL., the McCoy Library in
McLeansboro, IL., and the Brehm Library in Mt. Vernon, IL. - NOT off the
internet...but I still consider this information as WORKING DATA ONLY!!!
AND NOT TO BE CONSIDERED FACT (and released to Salt Lake) UNTIL PROVEN!!!)
Sorry to be nasty, but I hate seeing erroneous data on the 'net, when a
little personal research and proofing would avoid leading others down the
wrong path! I would like to see some evaluation and discussion of the below
listed data. I have more extensive proofs than those listed.

CHARLES HENSLEY b. 1792/93 N.C. - d. 1861 Hamilton Co. IL.
-1823 - Charles Hensley witnessed the Indenture of
John Anderson and Joseph Clark on Sept. 15, 1823 (note the name, Anderson.)

-1825 - Charles Hensley listed on Tennessee Tax list.

-1828 - Charles Hensley witnessed a Deed Transaction on Oct. 08, 1828.

-1830 - White Co. Tennessee Fed. Census - p.32 -
Charles Hensley-white male 30-40, along with white female 20-30 ("M."?),
1 male 10-15 (John A. 12 yrs.?),
1 male 5-10 (unknown), 1 male under 5 (Winkfield 2 yrs.?),
2 females 5-10 (Margaret 6 yrs.? & unknown)
Jeremiah Hensley is listed on this same Census - p.18.

-1840 - White C. Tennessee Fed. Census - p.17 -
Charles Hensley-white male 40-50, 1 male 20-30 (John A. 22 yrs.?),
1 male 10-15 (Winkfield 12 yrs?), 1 female 40-50 ("M"?)
2 females 15-20 (Margaret 16 yrs.? & unknown)
1 female under 5 ( Martha Jane 4-5 yrs.?)
Obadiah Hensley is listed on this same census - p.2.

Gail, do you think that John came with his parents? Or by himself
later.....? Do you think that this Charles is likely to have been the
Charles below in Edwards County in 1830? Or do you think that he died
