I don't have access to the article but I did find in Barbara Trelinska's
"Album Armorum Nobilium Regni Poloniae XV-XVIII saec." several examples of
the Sejm granting a naturalisation (Indygenat) of Polish nobility to
individuals previously granted "Swedish nobility" by King Jan Kazimierz. In
these cases he seems to have honoured members of his own staff.
1. Stefan Hankiewicz (sekretarz krolewski i pisarz dekretowy Wolynski)
originally from Upper Silesia was granted Swedish nobility on 9 II 1655 with
the herb Newlin (odm.) and received an indegynet in 1673 (recorded in a
Kinstytucja Sejmowa).
2.Adam Kotowski (sekretarz krolewski) herbu wlasnego, from a family peasant
origin from Komorzno in Silesia (Duchy of Brzeg) was granted "Swedish
Nobility" 20.V.1659. He also received an indegynat of Polish nobility in
1673.
3. Maciej Franciszek Wodzicki (sekretarz krolewski) and his brother
Wawrzyniec Jan both were granted "Swedish nobility" on 9.II.1655. In 1677
they were both granted new Polish nobility (rather than a naturalisation of
their "Swedish nobility") in reccognition of their military service and were
adopted into the arms Leliwa by Grzegorz Jan Granowski.
Trelinska also notes examples of Zygmunt III granting two Prussian
indygentas in 1624 limited to the Prussian vassal lands and Wladyslaw IV
made 3 grants of nobility with the same limited scope. There were similar
cases related to "szlachectwo kurlandzkie" and one for Inflanty. In earlier
pre-Union times there were also of course grants limited to the GDL. In all
these cases there is a difference in that the lands were fiefs of the
Polish-Lithuanian crown rather than representing a Royal pretense to a
foreign crown.
Kind regards, George Lucki

Heymowski's article (written in English) entitled ""Swedish" Nobility?" The
article concerns King Jan Kazimierz's practice of rewarding people with
Swedish nobility, because he also claimed the Swedish throne. By conferring
Swedish nobility he could avoid having to obtain the Sejm's prior
permission. ( The king was a bit short of cash during his Silesian
exile owing to the Swedish invasion, so he paid for services in Swedish
nobility.)
