Does any one have any ideas where the Hewitt name came from.
My understanding is as follows
Hewitt and the many variants of the name,
Originally HUET.
Came about 40 years before Wiliam 1st invaded Britain from Normandy, circa 1020
Settled in Kent, and ofspring moved and settled around England
Later to settle around the world.
I have kept this a short version as I would be interested in others thoughts.
Graham Hewitt
