Hi. I received your email some time ago and way behind in responding. I am
really interested in the Higginbothams and have not spent a great deal of time
in that line. I am attaching a file of what I do have. If you have any
problems with it, let me know. My Higginbothams are from England and I do
have some info. that my aunt provided me such as what they did in England and
articles about them.
Anyway, I'm providing what I do have and hope to hear from you.

1.Edward Higginbotham occupation carpenter, m. Mary Holt, b. 1-Apr-1830,
(daughter of David Holt and Betty Brookes) d. 1-Apr-1908. Edward resided in
Birmingham, ENGLAND. Edward had a builder's business in Macclesfield, ENGLAND.
Edward build the first house on a dead end street in Macdesfield so the street
was named Higginbotham street. The street was later renamed to South Park
Road. Mary: Mary resided in Prestbury, ENGLAND.
Children:
iCharles Higginbotham. Charles came to the U.S. with his brother Alfred
and settled in Northern New Jersey around Greenwood Lake. Came to USA before
1892.

ivAnne Higginbotham. Anne died at age 40.

viJohn Higginbotham occupation blacksmith. John lived in Blackpool,
ENGLAND, a seaside resort. John had a blacksmith shop in Blackpool.

ixThomas Higginbotham. Thomas died at age 6.
Second Generation
2.Alfred Higginbotham b. 19-Mar-1858, occupation silk mill;cooper, m. in
Prestbury, ENGLAND, Mary Alice Hall, b. 28-Jul-1857, (daughter of ? Hall) d.
24-Dec-1909, North Charleroi, PA. Alfred died 31-Oct-1914, Monongahela
Hospital, Monongahela, PA. Alfred worked at a silk mill in Macclesfield,
ENGLAND and in Paterson, NJ. Alfred and Mary and their children Louise,
Edward, Emma, Jennie, and Annie came to America in 1891 along with Alfred's
brother Charles. Alfred also was a "cooper"--made wooden barrels used to
display merchandise in retail stores. Mary: Alfred and Mary had 9 children, 2
boys which died in infancy in ENGLAND. Alfred and Mary were married in a
double wedding ceremony with Mary's brother, James Hall.

America in 1891 at age 9.

died 9-Feb-1926. Mary possibly born in Paterson, NJ or in SW PA where they
finally settled.
3.Edna Higginbotham m. Joseph Adamson. Joe and Edna lived in CANADA. Joseph:
Joseph and Edna settled in Toronto, CANADA. They were the parents of 6
children.

viBoden Powell Adamson. Boden died soon after Joseph and Edna arrived

4.William Higginbotham. William had a business making and selling brushes,
cutlery, and china. He later built a cinema "The Majestic". It is now the
only one left in Macclesfield, ENGLAND.

civil engineer. Louie died 12-Dec-1939. John: Resided in North Charleroi,
PA. Burt worked on the bridge there. They had a large white framed house on
a side street running between the Penna. RR tracks and the road leading into
Charleroi.
