Hi! I am researching Dr. Mary Frye Barry. She was born about 1859 in Illinois and believed to have died on December 8, 1919 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She never married. She was a physician and a state legislator in Colorado in 1899. She visited her sister in Honolulu in 1901 and decided to stay there for a while. She was a well-loved physician there. She left after 1907. The 1910 census shows her living with her sister, Abbie A. Smith, and Abbie's family (listed under Martin L. Smith) in Portland, Oregon. It's uncertain how long she was in Portland or when she went back to Colorado. She died in Colorado Springs, and it's uncertain where she was buried or if she had a tombstone. The obituary in the Colorado Springs newspaper states that she was to be cremated in Denver. A cemetery in Pueblo thinks that they have her remains there. I'm trying to clear this up. I was wondering if someone could check to see if there was an obituary or a news story about her de!
ath there since she was a beloved woman and doctor there. Thanks for any help or suggestions!
