WILLIAM HILBERT , 52, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Friday. He was born Nov. 21, 1950, in Dover, N.J. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from Dec. 10, 1967, to Nov. 26, 1969. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war and served in Vietnam from November 1968 to July 1969 and was awarded numerous medals including the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with four bronze stars and the Navy Cross for Gallantry. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars San Juan Argonne Post No. 1547. He was preceded in death by his very close friend and cousin, Anthony Russo of Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife Lavina Hilbert; daughters, Angela Anne Hilbert of Battle Creek, Mich., Carrie Ann Walls of Blythewood, S.C.; his father, William C. Hilbert and wife Dorothy of El Paso, Texas; his mother, Elizabeth Anne Hilbert of Rockaway, N.J.; sisters, Dianne Jones and husband Tom of Swartzwood, N.J., Linda Marie Hilbert and Deborah Ann Crum of El Paso, Texas; and many other relativ!
es and friends. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Nelson Funeral Home.
