Aloha! That is interesting. There is a small family of burials in Olowalu that I never knew was there until these past few months when the sugar cane was cleared and now the markers are visible from the hiway into Lahaina. I have lived here for 15 years and have never noticed them before in between burnings. Possibly hidden by brush. The land in that area is now up for sale since the cane industry is failing. They are now clearing much of it of shrub and plants. My hubby and I have thought we should take a walk from the main road to the markers and see who the family is and the date ranges. Maybe we can do that soon, we travel through there many times during the week. I'll be more than happy to shoot any digital photos for you should I find the surname Nahaolelua.

Where are you from? Have you visited Maui? I have accessed your site and enjoyed reading your Hawaiian family ties. We have no Hawaiian ancestry, but I enjoy reading the history of the local families and the missionaries.

Mahalo!
