No, it doesn't sound like there is any connection. Luika is not a very common name (I spent a year going through the 1900 Maui census and found only a couple Luikas, and, of course, not the one I was looking for! The same with Napihaa, it doesn't seem to have been a very common name. However, I got her age and year of death from a 1925 insurance application (unfortunately, no other info) which indicated that in 1925 her mother was alive and in her 70s and that her father died at age 82 (no year indicated). This would have put the both of their births in the mid-1800s or earlier, but I have no idea what their names were. Interesting tidbits, but it so far is a dead end. Thanks for responding so quickly!
