Hi Neil
I am also glad to see you are still around. Where are you now? I retired
in November 2004 and am thoroughly enjoying myself. I still meet up with
George Brown and others who live around me. They have a monthly ramble plus
lunch which I have been to.
Let me know how you are getting on.
Best Regards
Tony Kershaw

Hooe Lake, Plymouth. Last seen there 3/05.
There is also a record of the ex Liverpool Launch "Endeavour".

She was built by Dunstan's, Thorne in 1966 and sold in 1973 to the MOD and

Defence was a bit bigger at 80ft. X 20ft., built by Richards, Lowestoft in

Brighton Marina 1/86. She was for sale in 7/00 and is reported lying
semi-sunk in Kerry, Ireland 11/02
For anyone interested in the history of the Cutters and Launches of the
department I can recommend Philip Simons book "HM Customs & Excise Cutters &
Launches" published by World Ship Society Small Craft Group. If still in
print it is available from WSS, 5 Rogate Drive, Estover, Plymouth PL6 8SY at
£10 inc. postage. Although a very directory the author recognises that it is
not complete and would welcome any information to enable a second and more
comprehensive edition.
