Looking for information on Vernon Hobson (possibly 28 Jun 1910-Apr 1994, or 23 Nov 1900-Nov 1970)

The man I'm looking for was the father of Clell Laverne Hobson b. abt 1930, who was the Quarterback for Alabama in the 1953 Orange bowl(First Orange Bowl Nationally Televised), and played Professional baseball(Cleveland Indians). Clell is currently a City Councilman in Tuscaloosa, AL.

He is also the grandfather of Clell Laverne Jr. "Butch" Hobson b. 1951 who played Pro Baseball for the Red Sox , Angels, Yankees. Butch also served as manager of the Red Sox in 1991 and is currently managing The Nashua Pride minor league baseball team in New Hampshire.

I am researching on behalf of Clell Jr. Any information will be gratefully appreciated.
