Hello to all,
As you said, "there are several Francis lines." Long time researchers have
them pigeonholed but newer researchers need to separate the different
families lines by location and weather they came from England or Ireland. We know
that George and Elizabeth came from England and Francis came from Drumilly,
Parish of Loughgall, County Armagh Ireland and Martha Harding Lissacurran,
Parish of Shankill, County Armagh. They married in Ballyhagen Ireland. Their
first son was Francis the emigrant. All of these villages were close together
in the Northern part of Ireland and under control of England. These Hobson of
Ireland were originally from England and were with Cromwell's army when he
resettled Ireland. William Hobson was the son of Francis the emigrant and
wife Ann Mackey, they were Quaker's of York Co. PA. William went to VA for a
short period of time but moved on to Washington KY and on into Clark Co. IN and
all points west.
