Mr. Walter Miller “Cotton” Hobson, age 84, of Oak Forest Circle, Millers Creek died Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at his home.

Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Hobson was born February 16, 1921 in Townville, SC to James Maxwell and Grace Routh Hobson. He served in the United States Army European Theater during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He finished as a captain and won a Bronze Star. He received a B. S. degree from Clemson A&M College.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Poole Hobson and a sister, Eleanor Davis

He is survived by: his wife, Nellie Gabriel Hobson of the home; two sons, David L. Hobson and wife, Lynne of Murrells Inlet, SC, Steven M. Hobson and wife, Sharon of Lexington, SC; grandsons, Michael, Christopher and Richard; granddaughter, Lisa Catalanotto; one step-daughter, Nancy Gabriel Edwards and husband, Tim of Taylorsville, step-granddaughter, Michaela; four great-grandchildren; Cameron, Frank, Sam, and Caitlin; one brother, Dr. James Harvey Hobson of Clemson, SC.
