DATABASE OF THE DAY (Free for 10 Days!)

Louisiana Soldiers in the War of 1812

This compilation contains an alphabetical list of Louisiana
soldiers who fought for the state militia during the War of 1812.
Taken from the National Archives, each entry includes the rank
and company to which the soldier was attached. With nearly
fifteen thousand soldiers listed, this is a great tool for
filling gaps in one's ancestral research.

Bibliography: Pierson, Marion John Bennett, comp. "Louisiana
Soldiers in the War of 1812." Baton Rouge, LA: Louisiana
Genealogical and Historical Society, 1963.

Country Study of Ghana

This country study, prepared at the behest of the Library of
Congress, reveals information about the history, economy,
politics, and society of Ghana. Created by a number of capable
people and completed in 1994, it is designed as a resource for
researchers, both experienced and novice, into the history and
politics of this West African nation. This database contains
significant material useful to the researcher looking into
ancestry from Ghana. Although not a database with searchable
lists of names, it is nonetheless an aid to persons attempting to
understand the larger culture in which their ancestors lived.

Bibliography: Berry, La Verle, ed. "Ghana, A Country Study."
Washington, D.C.: Library of Congress, 1994.
