DATABASE OF THE DAY (Free for 10 Days!)

California and Californians, Vol. 4

This database is the last of four volumes covering the history of
California. Beginning with the first Spanish settlers and
continuing up through the start of the 20th century, these
volumes include more than simply a narrative history of the
state. This final volume continues the biographical information
on important men and women in the history of California begun in
the preceding volume. Of particular use to the researcher are the
brief histories and genealogies contained in this set. Names of
ancestors and descendants are included in many entries, making
this an invaluable tool for the researcher whose ancestors lived
in California.

Bibliography: Hunt, Rockwell D., ed. "California and
Californians, Vol. Four." Chicago: Lewis Publishing, 1932.

Country Study of El Salvador

Prepared by the Library of Congress, this country study reveals
information about the history, economy, politics, and society of
El Salvador. Completed in 1988, it is designed as a resource for
researchers, both experienced and novice, into the history and
politics of this Central American nation. This database contains
significant material useful to the researcher looking into El
Salvadoran ancestry. Although not a database with searchable
lists of names, it is nonetheless an aid to the person trying to
understand the larger culture in which their ancestor lived.

Bibliography: Mortimer, Louis, ed. "El Salvador, A Country Study.
"Washington, D.C.: Library of Congress, 1988.
