d. 17 Apr 1858 "Spring Hill", Jackson, TX & Talitha Ann MORTON b. 6 Aug
1806 Anderson Co., TN d. 1 Oct 1839 Egypt, Wharton, TX. They were m.
11 Oct 1827 Franklin Co., AL.

John gets his middle name of SUTHERLAND from Talitha's mother,
Elizabeth SUTHERLAND who m. Rev. Quin MORTON. Someone once suggested
to me his middle name was SHELTON, which is entirely possible as
Elizabeth SUTHERLAND's mother was Agnes SHELTON.

His siblings are:

2. Quin Morton HODGES b. 4 Jul 1830 died at age 2.

children. Thomas is the s/o George "Cinco" Quin SUTHERLAND V & Frances
MENEFEE so therefore Thomas and Mary are 1st Cousins 1 Removed. More
on George SUTHERLAND V: On his tombstone in the family cemetery near
Edna and Ganado, Tx. is this inscription:
"To the memory of Maj. GEORGE SUTHERLAND, a soldier of the Texas
Revolution, and a participant in the Victory won at San Jacinto April
21, 1836; Born in the State of Virginia Jan. 8, 1788; Emigrated to the
province of Texas 1830. Departed this life April 22, 1853." I have
much more on this man.

Feb 1914 Allice, Jim Wells Co., TX m. 6 Sep 1855 George W. BELL b. 25
Dec 1834 Lexington, Fayette, KY. They had 16 children. (This is my
