I descend from Andrew Hoge, my grandfather, listed in the 1880 Federal Census for Uvalde, TX.

William, son of William James Hoge and Zenobia Middlebrook Tenneson, married Cora
Spurgeon in the 1880s in Uvalde, Tx.

In the 1860 Federal Census for Karnes Co., TX, she (and her daughter Ophelia Tenneson) is shown as residing in the household of her brother James Bird Middlebrook.

I lost them in 1870. In Mississippi 1860, there is a James W. age 25 born in Mississippi living with a family with several different surnames among them is a Z. Pennison. Could this be Zenobia? James is a farmhand for the family.

I hope this is helpful to you. I was trying to connect this to my Hoge line, but was unable to with the information I have.
