Hi, All.

Got off work early today and guess what I did. Went fishing!
Here's what I caught:

1) From a list of Kansas Legislators (Kansas State Historical Society page)

Chamber: Senate 1957, 1958, SS1958, 1959, 1960
Notes:

This looks to be Verne Eugene Hoisington, b. 21 Jun 1908 Leoti, Wichita
Co., KS, son of Roy Albert Hoisington and Marguerite Riley, and grandson of
Andrew Jackson Hoisington and Mary Smith.

2) For those of you that are interested in reading more about Perry Milo
Hoisington, there is an article on the Kansas State Militia's "Hall of
Fame" page <http://skyways.lib.ks.us/kansas/adjutant/Hoisington.html>;. It
contains this interesting (but partially erroneous) statement:

"Two of Hoisington's children [actually his grandchildren, they are the
children of his son Edward Gregory Hoisington, an officer in the US Reg
Army and an instructor at West Point]; Maj. Gen. Perry M Hoisington, II,
USAF retired and Brig. Gen. Elizabeth P. Hoisington, USA retired, are the
only brother and sister who have become generals in the history of the
Armed Forces."

There's also a picture of Perry Milo (I) in full uniform.

3) And from the Roster of 1812 Soldiers, Vol. 1. (Ohio Historical Society
page):

ROLL OF CAPT. WILLIAM KILGORE'S COMPANY. (County Unknown.) Served from
February 16 until April 16, 1814. Part served until August 16, 1816.
