Beneath the altar is buried Benjamin Gifford, d. 1715. This altar,
and the communion rails, were given in memory of Margaret Bailward, d.
1929 The old altar is now in the Children's Corner.
The impressive East Window is by Kempe, in memory of John Bailward,
1799-1868. It shows scenes from the lives of Christ and of St. JOhn
Baptist, the Patron Saint of this Church. The organ, a two manual
instrument, was built by W.G. Vowles in 1888.
A wooden tablet to Mary Chichester, 1904-1941. The Patronal Banner
of St John the Baptist hangs near.
A list of the Rectors of Horsington, pretty well complete from 1305
to the present day. A window showing the Annuciation, to John Don, d.
1886.
A marble tablet to Rev. Hill Dawe Wickham, Rector, 1856-1874, d.
1874 aged 67. Also Janet his wife, d. 1883 aged 73. A beautiful Coat of
Arms is shown.
A window showing the Adoration of the Sheppards, to Rev. W. D.
Daniel, M. A., d. 1924. Below the window a brass to Mary Daniel, his
widow, 1853-1928.
