Hi, Tina.

I don't remember if I ever gave you an answer to the following:

I am also working on a very possible
>link to the Hoisington family to a Brewer family, which if I link them
>just right would connect me to my husband before we even met. If anyone
>has any information on teh Ebenezer Hoisington Russell (if I remember
>right, he was adopted for some reason), it may have been that his mother
>remarried and his step father gave him his name not sure will check. I
>have the he married a ________ Brewer. No first name or dates on her.
>Anything on her would be great help, so if anyone has anything, please
>let me know.

Anyway, according to Harry Hoisington "If he [Ebenezer Hoisington, Jr. b.
) had children by her their names are not known. The Vermont Census of
1790 gives Ebenezer Hoisington as Head of a family of 2 males under 16, 1
over 16 and 4 females. By Windsor Town Clerk record "Ebenezer Hoisington
Russel adopted son of Ebenezer Hoisington, Jr. and Sarah, his wife b. at
Windsor Nov. 4, 1795, recorded June 15 1802 at the request of said Ebenezer
Hoisington."

The adopted son was the natural son of the Widow Sarah Williams Russell who
married Nathaniel Hoisington. I thought at first glance that I knew which
Nathaniel this was, but it looks as though there might be some problems
with Harry's documentation. He has two Nathaniel's listed (father and son)
and has the Widow Russell married to the son. However, if the birth date
of Ebenezer Hoisington Russell is 1795, that would make him older than his
stepfather and his mother twice the age of his stepfather. Highly
unlikely, even in our family <VBG>. Either Harry has got the Nathaniels
and their wives mixed up, or we have a man who loves MUCH older women.

Is there anyone close enough to Windsor that can do a check at the Town Clerks?

Harriette
