I'll try to identify who I can where I can. Or at least let you know who lived
next to who. Maybe it will lead to something. I read in an Athens Co. history
book that sometimes children were sent to live with someone who was literate,
in exchange for an education, they did chores. Also, if the parents couldn't
afford them, they were sent to family or friends. The older children were
often hired help. I noticed a lot of children were living in other households,
I guess they believed in the "it takes a village to raise a child" philosophy.
