Subject: [HOISINGTON-L] Hoisingtons in the Civil War
Date: Fri, 2 Jul 1999 20:20:45 -0700 (PDT)
Hi, All.
I got kind of carried away when I heard that ancestry.com was offering free
access to its Civil War Database for a short time.
I found 39 Hoisington/Hossington/Hoysington/Hassingtons. The information
contained in the listings included surname used, state served, date of
enlistment, place of enlistment, age, rank at enlistment, residence, and
miscellaneous info. Not all info was available for each listing, but this
was the best source I've found since the SSDI.I spent the past 5 hours
searching and formatting.
I will be adding this info to the Hoisington in the Military page, but if
any of you would like a copy of the table I created, let me know. I will
be moving this weekend (whew, finally!), but I will send it out to you next
week.
Harriette
