Dear Kathy,
I have spent the greater part of the last three months in Texas with my
Holden family. Serious illness.
This is most of the information that I have on my HOLDEN family. It is not
all proven, I wish it was.
If anyone is able to help me prove this or any part of it, I will be most
grateful.

First Generation---
SARAH A HOLDEN-born abt 1820 or 1821 in South Carolina.
1st marriage- Mr Holden ???
2nd marriage- March 20 1870 to Peter Dempsy Findley --Gordon Co. Ga.

Second Generation
Sarah and Mr Holdens children
1. Hillary Holden- born about 1841 in Gordon Co. Ga. He married S.J
Bolding. She died Nov 14, 1918
He was in COF, 4th Ga. Infantry CSR as a Private. He died March 25,
1897, Bethesda Church.

2. Artie Catherine Holden- Born 18 March 1840 or 1843. She married William
Venable Findley
3. George W. Holden--Born Jan 1844. On 17 July 1868 he married Rebecca M.
She died in Spur, Texas.
]George was a POW 5-12-64 at Spatsylvania Court House, Va. and again POW
3-25-65 at Fort Stedman.
I have them with 4 children--Assa,Allie,Abba, Francis "Frank"

Third Generation
Hillary and S.J. (My Gr. Grand Parents) had one child, A son named John H
Holden. I have him born on several dated?? 1853, 1857,and Nov 1863. I do
not know the correct date. I have him born in Gordon Co. Ga. I have him as
having died June 4, 1922 and buried at a small chapel near Calhoun Ga.
He seemed to get into a great deal of trouble, from time to time.

Fourth Generation
My dear father HENRY R HOLDEN was born Nov 17, 1902 and still lives in
Hunt Co. Texas.

If anyone is able to help me, I am sure you know just how happy that will
make me.
