I am looking for the parents of Tabitha Visley Holder who married John
Franklin Marshal probably around 1846 in South Carolina or Georgia. Tabitha
Visley and John Franklin were born in South Carolina and lived in Early
County, Georgia, in 1850. She was listed as 25 and he was 35 in the 1850
Early County, Georgia, census. She was listed as Eliza Marshal, head of the
household, in Heard County, Georgia, in the 1870 census, living next door to
her son Joseph Jerome Marshal. She and her son, Thomas, were living with
her daughter and son-in-law, Thomas and Catherine Marshal Meacham in
Randolph County, Alabama, in the 1880 census. She supposed died after 1880
in Rock Mill, Randolph County, Alabama.
There was a Jefferson Holder living nearby in Early County, Georgia, in
1850. He may possibly be her brother.
The children of John Franklin and Tabitha Visley Holder Marshall were:
Joseph Jerome, born 1848
Richard (twin), born 1852
George Washington (twin), born 1852
Alexander, born about 1853
Catherine, born about 1856
Wright, born about 1859
Thomas, born about 1863
If anyone can help me find Tabitha Visley Holder's parents and maybe
ancestors farther back, I will be grateful for your help. I have been
looking for several years and have not been able to find them since I don't
know their names.
Thanks,
Larry Holland
