This is the John Holder who married Agnes BLEDSOE, daughter of Moses
Bledsoe. I'm not sure however if the Moses Bledsoe mentioned in these
deeds is her father or perhaps brother, as her father would have been
fairly old by this time. This family is part of the group of Holders who
moved into Surry Co. NC from Virginia, and then moved on to South Carolina
and parts south and west; he is NOT part of the "Moravian-affiliated"
Holder family who came to NC from Pennsylvania.

This might be a good time to remind folks that there's a file in the LDS
regarding this family (Jeanette Daniels, The Holder Family) that is
seriously confused on the Holders of Surry and nearby counties in NC.
Daniels states incorrectly that this John Holder was the son of Joseph
Holder b. abt 1725, Germany, who she is presumably confusing with Joseph b.
1727 PA, son of John Holder and Barbara Volck.
