Hi, I posted this in HOLLAND/MARTIN and ADAIR, and was hoping you, Sandy,
could post in COPELAND as well. There seems to be a joint mystery here as to
who Tillmon HOLLAND is the son of. I KNOW who he is the father
of...(artensus clifton HOLLAND) ANYONE FEEL FREE TO CLEAR UP...especially if
you have access for Abbeville or Laurens Co. Info. I need an ADAIR family
member who may have more info...

I am a descendent, possibly of (two) HOLLAND people, which has caused some
confusion on my part. I am from Forcipa Norcissa HOLLAND (1810, 1824?
S.Carolina) who married WIlliam Rudus MARTIN in Danville (Morgan CO.)
Alabama. It is not clear if she was from the ADAIR family or not. The LDS
site shows her also as being from Thomas HOLLAND and Jane ADAIR. I think
this is a mistake, Jane didn't have any Forcipa's that I know of....and that
would put her child count around eight (if you include Tillmon, as I explain
below)

Her son (Forcipa's), Will MARTIN (jr) married Nancy Jane HOLLAND, who was the
daughter of Artensus Clifton HOLLAND and Eliz. CRYER. Artensus was the son
of Tillmon HOLLAND, who was {{possibly}} either the son of Thomas HOLLAND and
Jane ADAIR, {{or}} THomas HOLLAND and Prudence LEGGETT. Tillmon (Tilman) was
born in Abbeville, BEFORE Thomas, Rachel or Jane HOLLAND of Thomas HOLLAND
and Jane ADAIR were born. Yet he was born AFTER, Aseneth, who is said to be
from Thomas H. and Jane.

In other words, either the LDS is TOTALLY out of whack, and we may never know
who Tillmon came from, or Thomas HOLLAND had two wives and had kids with both
during the same time period, in S.C. Strangely, both his wives (according to
LDS), packed up, moved to Limestone, Ala, and died there.

It is possible that there are just so many HOLLANDs and ADAIRs in SC at that
time, that there are more than 1,2 or a million Thomas HOLLANDs and Jane
ADAIRs.

If anyone can help me clear this up, I would be very appreciative. The ADAIR
part is what I am not sure of...
