Alpine is a small community. What would be considered a "bedroom"
community.

The atlas lists a population of only 1100.

| Lana
| We lived 39 miles North of Fresno. We used Swamp Coolers. They are
cheaper
| to use and keep the house nice and cool.
|
| Modesto is about 55 miles on North from where we lived. We always said we
| lived in the Valley. One year ( summer of 61 I believe it was) it got up
to
| 110.
| What made it bad for us is, we had no cooling system in the house we
| rented. ugh
| miserable.
|
| How big is Alpine. I have searched there for a relative but did not come
| up with
| nothing except a p.o. box number. She lived there before going into a
| home in
| San Diego and living before her death.
