This is the Stephen Hopkins who came to America in the Mayflower.
Some well-known descendants in this book include "Jock" and "Sonny"
Whitney (financiers of "Gone With The Wind"), Lee de Forest (inventor),
Robert Treat Paine who signed the Declaration of Independence, Norman
Rockwell, Tennessee Williams, US Vice President Hannibal Hamlin, US
President Millard Fillmore, Mercy Bump (Mrs. "General Tom Thumb"), and US
Vice President Levi Parsons Morton.
