Hello to all!

Once again, I'm sending "full entries" from "our" property index
database to the entire list, rather than to the individual who requested
the information. I've been making phone calls to various "real estate
experts" who may have provided some insights as to what exactly these
records imply!

I was curious as to why "a BANK" would be listed as "GRANTEE" - what
sort of transactions would be involved? Obviously, these couldn't ALL be
"foreclosures" - the same names and properties are repeated over and
over...

My "expert" on such things told me that Massachusetts doesn't require an
escrow company for property transactions - Germania Cooperative Bank (or
whatever institution or organization) is listed as GRANTEE because (more
than likely) it had loaned the money to the purchaser!

Now, tomorrow I will order (at the FHC) a microfilm containing the
actual property transaction (for one of my OWN guys) to see exactly what
information might be contained therein. It'd be MUCH too expensive to
order every microfilm for every transaction, but perhaps I might happen
upon a clue (or two) about "my guy" in that record.

Will let you all know about the results of this latest Science
Experiment!
