Message Board Post:

I'm seeking to connect Asahel Wheeler Hubbard and his father Simeon Hubbard of Haddam to the line of George Hubbard (1601-1685) of Middletown, CT. I have suspicions but have been unable to locate information that would connect him. Following is possible information for this line.

"1000 Years of Hubbard History," page 312:
Asahel Wheeler Hubbard (descended from George Hubbard of Middletown, CT), son of Simeon and Esther (Wheeler) Hubbard, was born in Haddam, CT, 18 Jan 1819; removed to Indiana in 1838, where he graduated at law in 1841; was a member of the Indiana Legislature in 1847; removed to Sioux City, Iowa in 1857; became Judge of the Fourth Judicial District Court; elected in 1862 Representative of the 38th Congress, and re-elected to the 39th and 40th Congresses. Asahel Wheeler Hubbard died 22 Sep 1879.
