Hello

I've just joined this mailing list. I am hoping that I could contribute and
help with this mailing list.

My family name is Van Schellebeeck. My research have led me to my great great
grand father born around 1783/1784 in Boston USA. Unfortunately I have not
been able to get copy of his birth certificate. But I know he was born there and
was of dutch origin.

The other thing I know is that he was educated at La Rochelle, France before
moving to the island of Mauritius aroun 1803.

I have no information about his stay in France, La Rochelle. I would like to
find more about the period he spent in La Rochelle because that could lead me
to his family.

Being dutch and living in La Rochelle area make me believe that he could have
been of huguenot ancestry.

Anyone can advise me how to proceed?
