I am not a lurker but have posted two messages a while ago but here it is
again, anyway.
I am looking for descendants and more info/records of PALLIER / PALIER /
PALLIAR or de PALLIER:
Jean Joseph PALLIER (born in Lisieaux, CAEN, Normandy, France) exiled to
England in 1973. Married to Margaret WATSON around 1975. There is only a
son recorded so far, John Joseph PALLIER (1799-1870).
Jean PALLIER was a parfumer distiller in Lisieaux (a family thing it
appeared to be). The records were obtained from the Huguenots Society (of
London). More records I have is listed below:
James PALLIER married to Susanna BLUNDALE at St. Dunstain's, Stepney in
1689.
In 1701, a baptism of Judith Lisabeth VATTIER was recorded - "daughter of
Mr Enthoine VATTIER marchant grosser, Kel., St., vis-a-vis St Martin Court,
Parish de Ste Anne, London, and of Judy PALLIER. Godfather, Jean PALLIER
and Godmother, Elizabeth PALLIER. Nee 16 Mars. Judy came from CAEN in
France L'Eglise de Tabenacle (Glasshouse St.)"
In 1703, another baptism was recorded: "Marie PALLIAR, Father, Jacques
PALLIAR, poor weaver. Mother, Susanne PALLIAR. St. Jean st., Bethnal Green
Hamlet, Stepney Parish. L'Eglise de Londres (Threadneedle St.) Tem Etienne
Stuar et Marie Goutier. Hug. Soc. London volume 16."
In 1715, baptism record - "Anne MORICEAU, born Avr. 4. Father, Jean
MORICEAU. Mother, Judith MORICEAU. Godfather, Clement PALLIER. Godmother,
Mademoiselle Marie PALLIER." It is most likely that Judith was a PALLIER.
The forementioned John Joseph PALLIER was baptised at St. Maryleborne,
London in 1813 (with a mention that his father is dead) - Rather than any
other 'French' churches. Any idea why this is so?
One more record of PALLIER then I'm off.
Dumont PALLIER was born in France around 1816. Father, Armand PALLIER, army
officer.
There are only two 'strands' of this PALLIER family now living in
Australia. John Joseph's and Dumont PALLIER's. So am very keen to find out
more of others.
I would appreciate any tips or comments regarding those records. I only
obtained those through a family member so I am not sure exactly how it all
came together.
For you, Andrea, to make your job more easier to add this on:
PALLIER / de PALLIER: 1650's FRA > ENG > 1830's AUS. <>
Looking forward to read your replies,
Darlene Thornton Stein.
