OK, so I repeat -- let's have some posts which mention continental
European locations, please!! Andrea

OK Andrea, here's my contribution:

I am new to the Huguenot/Walloon list and have only started doing
genealogical research in the past 4 months, so still have a long way to go
and a lot to learn. If anyone can help with information or advise I would
be very grateful. Whilst I have had great success in tracing my Walloon
ancestors, I have been less fortunate with my Huguenots.

I am trying to find as much information as possible on the de Lambert
family. BERNHARD JEAN DE LAMBERT is said to have been a Huguenot Bishop in
Strasbourg at the end of the 1500's. He and his wife CLAIRE DE LAMBERT are
said to have fled to Ume in Sweden during the persecution of the Huguenots
in France, most likely at the end of the 16th century, possibly with an
interval in another country. I do not know if they had any children born in
France but they are said to have one son named JEAN BERNT LAMBERTUS,
probably born in Ume about 1600. We do know they had a great grandson born
in Ume in 1665, BERNHARD JEAN LAMBERT (at this time they had dropped the
'de').

The only Bernhard Jean de Lambert I have been able to find so far had a son
named FRANOIS DE LAMBERT born in 1487 in Avignon. Franois de Lambert
married CHRISTINA DE WITTENBERG in 1523. Franois lived in Strasbourg in
1524-1526 where he was Secrtary Lgation. Does anyone know what Secrtary
Lgation means?

The only other de Lambert I have found is JEAN-PIERRE DE LAMBERT, born about
1640 who married MADELINE DE TOURNIER. They had a daughter, also called
Madeleine, who married FRANOIS DE MISSOLES. The Missoles are from St
Etienne de Fontbellons in the south of Aubenas Ardche.

I do not know if any of these de Lamberts are related to the family I am
searching for but suspect it is not a common name. Has anyone any
information on de Lambert? Or could you suggest where I might find this
information? As I live in a small town in the Northwest of Australia I have
very limited access to research materials, other than the internet.

Many thanks,

Saga Christina Ask Troy
