Any help would be welcome!

The Mellodew family had Mills in Moorside Oldham in the 1800's and we have managed to trace back to John Mellodew (Meledue?)
He was was baptised in 1672 at Rochdale; his children were born at Middleton by Oldham.

The family has always stoutly maintained that the family were Huguenots -
where does one look?
