Hi Diana,

Whilst you say you have found many names in England were where they located?
This may well assist in deciding their origins.

The fact that you are researching in France presumably means you have some
information that leads you to that country. What is this information as
again it may assist in providing the basis for further research?

The use of K as the first letter of a name is not very common in France.
The nearest I have found to your name is KERCKHOVE. I can well imagine
anybody wanting to simplify such a name!
