In response to Roy Day last email, on Infobel.com I tried Chercheval in
France and got 9 answers. I looked in google and got" GEN-FR-L Archives:
February 1996 a listing of chercheval From: "Mr F. Sarrazit"

hi, Is this your surname? then get in touch ". Its a possibility of
research. I've seen names changing and getting lost I know for example of a
Cuierrier family becoming Spoonful (Cuiller=Spoon). Mr DeLoriol 's breton
hypothesis is as good or even better than this one. If there are
possibilities of a Burgundy connection I would look there , a protestant
going to Switzerland from Dijon is a good possibilty Luc
