I'm searching for information about my ancestor Pierre Rolland. He was born
at LaTremblade, France about 1650. He had a son Jean Rolland who married
Pietertie Schamp. I believe Jean was born about 1675 in LaTremblade also. I'm
trying to find out when they left France and if they went to England,
possibly Dorset and when and where they finally came to the United States.
I've heard several different arrival locations (Virginia and New York being
possibilities). JeanRolland had a son Joseph and it seems the spelling of
his last name became Ruland. In turn , over time the spelling became Rowland
which is my own surname. I''m desperately trying to link them all together so
that I can prove out all the facts and publish my elusive family tree at
last. I would greatly appreciate any little tidbit that might be lurking out
