Hello, everyone --

First, I really appreciate Roy's many posts lately and I also thank him
for his continued offers to do look-ups for fellow subscribers in a wide
variety of sources.
Second, I'd like to say that I agree with Roy that requests for look-ups
should be made by posting to the list (with details as to why you think
particular surnames might be in that source), and not to him privately. He
has requested the same thing in the past, but I notice that subscribers have
still sent requests to him privately (eg. as evidenced by posts from Roy re:
look-ups earlier this week).

I guess what I am trying to say is -- everyone, can we please try to
send as many posts as we can to the list? We sure need it, particularly now.
And, of course, I realise that we are all feeling sad and anxious and
distracted these days, but perhaps we also need the comfort and familiarity
of at least some normal routines and valued pastimes.
This little list is not important in the grand scheme of things but it
might help if we got it going again with some distractingly interesting
posts. We still have about 355 subscribers on the list -- even if only 10%
of you posted something, we'd have 35 posts! I'm doing my little part by
posting regularly and will continue to do that but, fellow listers, it's
getting very lonely out there <smile>. I would also like to thank John,
Carol, Bonnie, Sandra, PG, Chris, Ron, Judith and Judy for posting to the
list in the last two and half weeks. Hope I haven't forgotten anyone.
