Subject: DE PRANGY and DE DOFRACADE
Hi all...I am researching these two men COMPTE DE PRANGY and MONSIEUR DE DOFRACADE. DE PRANAGY was born in 1800 and DE DOFRACADE was born in 1836, both at Craigdarroch the home of the FERGUSSONS, in Dumfries, Scotland, so their parents were there before 1800. I cannot find these two names anywhere except when they were married into the FERGUSSON line they were in Paris France. DE PRANGY married MARIE JOSEPHINE AUGER and I think Auger is a Huguenot name and DE DOFRACADE was a French protestant who married ADELAISE FERGUSSON of Paris about 1855. Since I cannot find any evidence of their name, I was considering the possibility that they were Hugeunot. I spoke to one person at a geneological site who told me the name was not French. However, the only other DE PRANGY name I came across was GERVAIS DE PRANGY, a painter and no relation, who was French. I have studied several Hugeunot list of names with no success. If anyone is familiar with these names or has come across th!
em I would appreciate it very much if you could give me the information. Thank you. JEAN COAT EMAIL
