Subject: [HWE] How I Got Here (a posting idea)

Dear HWE'ers --
Since we're going through such a quiet period here on the list, I
thought I'd re-introduce an idea which has been done here a couple
of times before.
It's also an opportunity for you to introduce yourself to the list -- if
you haven't done so already -- or to re-post your interests if you haven't
done that for a while. And everyone can participate, no matter what
their level of genealogical expertise. Hopefully, we'll also have some fun
with this!
The idea/topic is called "How I Got Here". By this I mean, you are
invited to post some information about yourself and your research as
well as let us know how you came to be on this list.
To keep us on-topic, here are some suggestions for what to include in
your post --
** how/when you first got started in genealogy (newbie or experienced?)
** what surnames and locations you're researching
** what are your Huguenot/Walloon connections and how did you discover them?
** or are your H/W connections as yet unproven (and why)?
** are you stuck at any point? (give details of your brick wall)
Please keep our geographical focus in mind (Europe, UK, Ireland) and
stick to that as much as you can.
Lastly, but very *important*, personalize the subject line of your
post -- ie. don't use the same one I have used here. Instead, after the
words "How I Got Here" (so we can keep the continuity of the thread),
include surname(s), time period and/or location which is all your own.
Hoping this will inspire some of you to share your story with the rest
of us. Andrea (as list concierge)
