| Hi VKS Roy,
|
| When you catch your breath I would appreciate a look-up for
Jaques/Jaquiss.
| It is very kind of you to offer to do look-ups and I should certainly
| appreciate the opportunity to benefit from your offer at your convenience.
|
| Could you or anyone please either explain to tell me where I can get an
| explanation about the surnames of the Huguenots that the Huguenot Society
| has. Snip...|
| Deborah Jaquiss in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC

There is one entry for a Jean JAQUES who was a witness at the baptism of
Jean DERRIN and the date 17 Dec 1665.

Not sure what you are trying to find from the Huguenot Society list of
names, I presume you are talking about the American Society. To be quite
honest I can see no sense in such a list as it is not the name that is
Huguenot but rather the individual. This can be best explained by my
research which is a one-name study of LERPINIERE. Of the names located in
the 17th century I doubt whether more that 5 to 10% are Protestant, the
remainder are catholic.

Roy
