Thanks Andrea. I have also been contacted via the Rootsweb Mas board,
giving other variants, some of which I had already seen in the backtrack
from the Moss family from Canterbury (one of a number of Anglicised
versions): These gave me also MAES, MAAS, MAUS. Plenty of work ahead,
particularly via the Huguenot Registers.

Families with similar naes (MAES, MASS) were certainly having children
baptised at the Strangers church in Canterbury in the 1630s, although I
have not yet made a direct link.

What a great board this is.
