I may already have expounded my fears concerning the dangers in using DNA
tracing methods in genealogy. If so I apologise for this repeat.

It is reliably said that about ten per cent of people are sired outside the
marriage bed. In the past no great harm generally resulted, (possibly some
good if the female was looking for a more virile father for her off spring
than her partner).

If genealogists encourage family DNA testing all sorts of anomalies from the
accepted course of events could well be thrown up, leading unhappiness,
bitterness and, very likely, the breaking up of working relationships.
