Hello Everyone
Following some good advice given to me by Andrea some months ago, and a huge
amount of luck in discovering another researcher interested in the same
family I found the Le Marechal's in Caen, but have still to prove another
family story of them being hotel keepers in Paris about 1700. According to
my late mother the hotel was situated close to the Bastille. I must admit
that now I've found out the Le Marechal's were silk weavers, it seems odd
that they may also have been hotel keepers at one point, an unlikely
combination! Or is it?
So, does anyone know what type of records are available for Paris at that
time. Are there for instance business directories, street directories, legal
documents or other material that could help me prove the family myth.
Any information, suggestions or guidance will be gratefully received.
Regards
Sue
