While not a person, I suspect I should make a short
explanation of the conspiracy of Amboise.

Around 1560 several Huguenot groups got together with
the de Bourbon family. At this time the Guise family
were basically running hte country even though Francis
II was supposed to be King.

The idea was for de Condé (de Bourbon) to march down
the road and kidnap Francis II and while they were at
it grab Charles and Francois de Guise.

The only problem was that Charles de Guise got wind of
this and mustered up enough of his local army and
subsequently massacred the rebellous Huguenots.

Hung'em all over his castle walls he did.
