As usual one has to differentiate between a person (Luther)
and "-anism" (Lutheranism).

While it is true that the French Huguenots and other
Reformed Protestants were strongly opposed by the so called
Lutherans when arriving and living in their towns, they
considered themselves (including Calvin) as followers of
Luther. In their struggle with the "Lutherans" they
sometimes cited from Luther's works to show that the
Reformed Protestants were the true Lutherans!

Even if heavy struggles on the true interpretation of Luther
arose, nobody can deny the strong influence of Luther on
Calvin and Reformed Protestantism generally.
