Hi Andrea,
sure, Waldo indeed is a surname, and a very famous one! Peter Waldo (Pierre
Waldo, Petrus Waldo) was the founder of a radical ascetic Christian movement
in 12th-century France around 1160, referred to as the Waldensians or
Waldenses and also Albigensians along with the Cathars. For more info on him
