Hi Guys

Update:

For anybody interested in the demographics and family histories/working practices/membership of the
Weavers Company of Huguenots involved in the silk trade, especially those involved in the weaving
trade, try to get a copy of:

Huguenots in Britain and their French Background, 1500-1800, edited by Irene Scouloudi, published by
Macmillan, London, ISBN 0-333-39669-3.

It contains an essay by Natalie Rothstein called (appropriately) 'Huguenots in the English Silk
Industry in the Eighteenth Century'.

Well worth a read for anybody with more than a passing interest in this subject - I have cos some of
Huguenot lot worked in the industry in Spitalfields.

Regards

Tony Fuller
