Listers,

I am in agreement with various responders to my initial
post. Indeed, I did make a point of including in that
post the following :-
"So if anyone has an opinion or story to tell on that
topic then maybe it is not for this maling list but
perhaps directly."

That being said it is not my intention to continue what
this writer agrees, can be considered "off-topic"

There are some points to which I must respond, as I
believe that by sharing information we all benefit. The
sharing of flawed information is not helpful.

The question was :-

At first I bowed to someone who is more knowledgeable.
However, a quick search on the Google internet search
engine using simply Huguenot and Mason produced many
connections.

One in particular is the "Huguenot Masonic Lodge"
"Huguenot Masonic Lodge 381"

The obvious question would surely be :- How did this
group come to use the name if there is no connection ?

A similar search using the words Huguenot and Guilds,
appears to provide many sources of connection. After
all there was most definitely a silk weavers guild.

As for the words Huguenot and Knights Templar, again
there are many references. However these references,
"generally" appear to follow an ancestor trail from
knight to Huguenot.

The short discussion here recently on political and
religious bias indicated that this bias was often used
against our Huguenot ancestors. I wonder if these same
ancestors also used their affiliations to other groups
to further their own religious beliefs ?

But due to a certain lack of credibility in many of
those search engine results, regarding guilds and
templars and also that those words could be considered
of topic, I wish to drop any further discussion
regarding them.

I will ask again, what is the connection between the
Huguenots and the Masons ?

I ask this for good intent. Not to bombard anyone or
group with unfounded bias , for or against. I simply
ask for historical purposes. If there is no connection
then the group webpage is misleading. If there is a
connection then I would appreciate knowing the
historical side.

Any comments or thoughts I may have on other mailing
lists, are for my own opinion, which in the case of one
are completely negative and so not for this well
balanced and most informative list.

Kind Regards,
Peter Leroy
