Peter -

As I suspect you know better than I, (who knows remarkably little about
Freemasonry), Freemasonry over the years has been associated with very wide
sections of the community. Many of these 'sections' have very little in
common, apart from a supposed basic Christian belief, be it either
Protestant or Roman Catholic.

Not having Googled on the subject I could well be wrong, but I would need
convincing that there was a stronger link between Masons and Huguenots than
say Masons and the Military, Police, Legal, Press, Local Government or Local
Businesses or other professions and occupations in this and many other
countries, with the occasional very odd and unexpected link indeed.

You are a romantic Canon to talk about warming St. Paul's, the only real way
of doing it is to warm the County of Middlesex, to which our revenues are
hardly adequate. Rev. Sydney Smith 1771-1854, Canon of St. Paul's
